Feature Video Friday: The 2014 Honda CR-V

On Fridays we’re highlighting each of our vehicles with a video made right in our showroom, and because every series needs a catchy name, we’re calling it Feature Video Fridays. After starting with the 2014 Honda Accord, followed by the 2014 Honda Odyssey, we’re back this week with a walkaround video of the 2014 Honda CR-V.

This smallish SUV based on the Civic’s engine platform is lightweight, refined, mechanically sophisticated and carries Honda’s trademarks of high-quality materials and safety features.

The 3,500-lb. 4-door offers 37 cubic feet of storage space with the rear seats upright, and about 71 cubic feet when they’re folded down. Three different trim levels will give you the option for no frills (LX), slightly more amenities (EX), and a sophisticated, comfort-laden model (EX-L).

No matter which version you choose, standard iOS connection means that iPhones will connect automatically with Pandora Internet radio. If you don’t favor iPhones, standard Bluetooth connections should get plenty of other smartphones up and running as well. Also standard is SMS text messaging which reads your texts to you over the CR-V’s audio system, and lets you respond back, all without pushing a button, swiping a screen, or taking your eyes off the road.

One of the challenges of owning an SUV is backing up. All that cargo space makes for tricky rear visibility, particularly when the windows are packed to the roof with whatever you’re hauling. The CR-V handles that by installing a rear camera with a dashboard display, and makes it standard in all models.

Average fuel economy will average in the mid to upper 20s across all models, which makes the CR-V an economical choice in either urban or rural environments. Stop by Leith Honda to get behind the wheel and evaluate the 2014 Honda CR-V for yourself.
